The Copenhagen Half-Marathon: A Spectators View

What an incredible experience the 2024 Copenhagen Half Marathon was! As a spectator, it was impossible not to feel the energy from the moment the first runners took off. Whether you’re a seasoned marathon fan or just stumbled into the action, this event has something for everyone.

The course is a spectator’s dream. With so many fantastic spots to cheer from, it was hard to choose just one! The Redbull zone was a top pick – live music pumping, free Redbulls flying, and the perfect spot to shout out some encouragement as runners passed by. The crowd’s energy here was next level, hyping up runners and fans alike.

Getting around to catch more action? No problem! Copenhagen’s metro made it easy to hop between different points of the race. Quick, reliable, and close enough to the route that you never missed a beat.

And let’s not forget the crowd! You could hear languages from every corner of the globe, and the camaraderie was contagious. It felt like a mini-world cup, but for runners. The mix of locals and international fans made the atmosphere even more electric.

Hats off to the organizers for pulling together such a seamless and vibrant event. If you’ve got a half marathon on your spectator bucket list, Copenhagen is the one to experience. See you next year, hopefully from an athletes view…
